The cusp of perfection and imperfection is the Maine theme of Nicolette Bénard’s art. A series of wall objects framed in plexiglass.
In Project B. Nicolette investigates a doll’s position as an icon of beauty – the sum of the perfect, indulgent women – and hereby asks herselfs: ‘’is this the ideal beauty or false idealism?” Each work is unique and iconic. With a wink and a healthy dose of humor Nicolette works on her dolls and transforms them into…..yes, into what exactly?
